If you were a superhero, what would your power be?
I think it would be super cool to have the power of Metamorphosis so I could transform into anything!!
Favourite song at the moment and why?
One of my favourite songs at the moment is Katy Perry’s song ‘Firework’. I love the lyrics in the second verse were she says
‘…If you only knew what the future holds, after a hurricane comes a rainbow. Maybe you’re reason why all the doors are closed, so you can open one that leads you to the perfect road…’
I love these lyrics and their message of hope. They are also very applicable to me because God has taken me on a journey the past year in completing year 12, getting accepted into uni and opening up the opportunity to be a part of Sacred Stone.
I’m pumped to be playing this song in seminars too!
A bit of where I’ve come from …
I’ve grown up in a small country town called Balaklava, us country kids refer to it as Balak! I have lived there with my family; Mum, Dad, little sis and my little bro for almost 12 years. Balak is a great little town where I’ve made some amazing friends! Before living there I lived in a town called Wagga Wagga in NSW.
I spent all my schooling life at Horizon Christian School. In my senior years at Horizon I had the privilege of being a prefect (student leader). We did heaps of things around the school including organised fundraisers, ran bible studies and hung out with younger kids, helping them out in their classes.
When I was in year 12 I went overseas to a country called Albania. We worked with gypsy street kids and taught them about the love and life of Jesus. There is so much poverty and need in our world. Never buy into the lie that you can’t make a difference! Our world needs people who will stand up and change the life of others for the better.
Musical Background?
I have been playing piano from the age of 7 and have been having vocal training from age 12. For the past two years I have been teaching piano and vocals. I love teaching and sharing my passion for music.
So why Jesus?
I’ve been brought up in a Christian home so I have always known about Jesus but what made me make a decision to follow Him was when I had my first encounter with his incredible love. I came to the realization that being a Christian is not about being connected to a type of “religion” or “set of rules”, but about having a personal relationship with Jesus. God is all about relationship and he wants that with each of us.
Jesus inspires me because He loves everyone! Not just the good people and the glamorous, the rich and famous, but he loves the poor and the broken hearted and those that seem unlovely to us. Jesus looks at what is on the inside, he looks at our heart, and loves everyone equally. And that is something that I think makes Him an ultimate hero; His ability to love!
One more thing …
Through Jesus we can find Hope, Joy, Peace and Love!
Hope – an eternity spent together with God is assured! (Check it out in the Bible: Titus 3:7)
Joy – an everlasting happiness that can penetrate even the toughest of times (Check it out: Isaiah 61:7)
Peace – hearts free from anxiety and filled with gratitude (Check it out: Phillipians 4:7)
Love – the eternal, unconditional love of God that will never change (Check it out: Psalm 136:2)
Jesus came that you may have a life filled with hope; that you may have a life filled with joy; that you may have a life filled with peace; that you may have a life filled with love; Jesus came that you may live a truly beautiful life!
